Our Prosthetics Process
If your amputation is planned, we'll meet with you beforehand to discuss the process, your options, and answer any questions to help you feel prepared.
To begin your prosthetic journey, you’ll need a prescription from your doctor. This will allow us to start coordinating your care and fitting process.
Call us at 330-244-9058 to set up an appointment in our office or we can come to you in the hospital.
While you heal, we’ll provide you with a stump shrinker to aid in the healing process. We’ll also evaluate your needs to determine the best prosthetic solution for you. This may involve scanning and casting.
Our team submits the evaluation to insurance for prior authorization. Once it has been authorized, we will set up a series of about 4-5 appointments.
Depending on your individual needs, you may be fitted with a temporary prosthesis or a series of custom fittings to ensure the best possible outcome.
Once you and your prosthetist are happy with the fit and function, your socket will be fabricated into the final product.
Once your custom prosthesis is ready, we'll deliver it to you. We'll also handle the insurance billing process to minimize any hassle on your end.
We'll continue to work closely with you to ensure your prosthesis fits comfortably and functions optimally. This includes regular check-ins to make any necessary adjustments and to order any needed supplies. We are always here for you.
